Godalming Christmas Festival & Godalming Christmas Lights 2012

THANKS TO EVERYBODY WHO SUPPORTED THIS YEARS WONDERFUL EVENT DESPITE THE WEATHER, HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU FROM THE FESTIVAL TEAM

On Saturday 24th November, Godalming will host a third magical Christmas Festival in its picturestque and historic town centre.

From 10am to 6pm, visit the Festive market with over 60 craft, gift and food stalls for all your Christmas shopping needs.  With the Italian Market, Farmers' Market producers, the Dobby Horse carousel, Santa's Grotto and a packed programme of entertainment, Godalming's Christmas Festival and light switch on is the place to be.

At 5 pm, the town's fabulous Icicle Christmas Lights wiill be switched on in a sparkling, dazzling, ceremony at the Pepperpot.

Come and join us for what promises to be a wonderful day!

Christmas Market

Historic and picturesque Godalming will host a festive Christmas Market  and Festival  with over 60 stalls plus the popular Farmers' market producers will be in town and at the Upper High Street an Italian Piazza will be there to help you with all your Christmas gifts, goodies, food and present buying for all ages. 

Kiddies' Corner & Children's Entertainment

The Dobby Horse Carousel is back by popular demand and, of course, no Christmas Festival is complete without a visit to Santa in his grotto, which can be found along with Kiddies’ Corner at the Wilfred Noyce Centre. Lots of fun Christmas games and stalls,  including Christmas card making, face painting, raffles  and competitions will be  on offer plus a yummy cakes and refreshments run by the Moss Lane School PTA.

MOSHI MONSTERS

The Godalming Christmas Festival Organisers aredelighted to announce that our fabulous, very special guests are MOSHI MONSTERS KATSUMA AND POPPET.  The Moshi Monsters will be visiting Godalming and will be appearing at intervals throughout the day.

Entertainment Programme

The festive entertainment programme at the Pepperpot is always a treat and this year is no exception. Guildford Vox, Minor Chord, Music Kids

Christmas Lights Switch On be dazzled at 5.00pm as the new Christmas lights will be switched on at a special ceremony at the Pepperpot. Godalming will again be aglow, not only with Christmas Cheer, but with glittering icicle lighting which will illuminate the whole Town.

Godalming’s Christmas lights have been paid for by a large majority of independent traders and a major sponsor Charterhouse Club.  Sean Herdman-Grant the Club’s Manager said “We are delighted again to be involved in the Godalming Christmas Festival and light switch on. Come down and see us at the Christmas Market along with Eagle Radio’s Love Crew and find out what Charterhouse has to offer."

Godalming’s unique shops, hostelries and restaurants will be open throughout the day and free Hoppa Shuttle buses will run from Godalming College to the Borough Hall and the Co-Op in Farncombe between 10-6.00pm

A big thank you to all the local businesses for their sponsorship of the Christmas Lights and to Godalming Town Council and Waverley Borough Council for their support of this event.  Please note that the Christmas THE CHRISTMAS MARKET is now full and we can't take any further stall bookings.
